Today I want to talk about how to partner with sites to receive free items for review! All of the sites that I’m posting today are fashion and usually only accept fashion bloggers, but it doesn’t hurt to try if you’ve got a good amount of followers!
Here’s a list of sites I put together that have blogger programs:
(NOTE: They are not all the same clothing style. I suggest only emailing the sites that you like, it’s easier to review items that are more your style.)
After you’ve decided which sites you’re interested in pursuing further, send them an email about their blogger program! Make sure it’s a unique email and doesn’t sounds generic. If they think you’ve sent that same email to 20 other sites, they usually won’t choose you. Try something like…
Dear (Site Name),
In the first paragraph, let them know you’re applying for their blogger program and start off with your name and blog URL. Throw in a compliment, but be specific! Saying “I love your site” is just like all those annoying bloggers that message you and say “I love your blog, follow me?” It’s just annoying and gives off that just send me stuff vibe. Try telling them why you love their site. Is it their leggings? Their boots? Their style? Let them know!
Get a little more person in the second paragraph. Tell them what your blog is about. Throw in all your statistics. Some good things to include in this would be:
- Follower Count
- Monthly Page Views
- Where you’re from
- Where most of your traffic/followers are from
- Optional: Twitter, Facebook, Lookbook, Instagram, Pinterest, Etc.
End it off with anything you’re proud of your blog for and any other reviews you’ve done. Maybe you already have a reviews link where you post all past reviews? Add that with the message! Maybe your blog has been featured on another site or in a magazine, etc? Include that, links too! They need a reason why they should choose you and this is where to give it to them! Make it sound good without lying.
Thank you,
(Your Name,
Your URL)
Don’t be discouraged if they don’t choose you, a lot of times their programs become full. You can always try again in a few months. They don’t penalize you for multiple attempts, just don’t email them every week!
Good luck in your search for free clothing! I’ll probably make a follow-up post about how to write a good review after you’re approved. Stay fashionable.
I was not paid by any of these sites to post about them. This is my own writings and I put this list together myself. I do not work with every site listed above but I have written reviews for some of them.
